Born To Fly

In the book, A Savior for All Seasons, William Barker tells a great story. It is about a disagreement between a president of a religious college who taught physics and a traveling bishop. The minister insisted that the return of Christ was immanent and that the millennial reign would begin. Why did he think this? “Because just about everything concerning nature has been discovered and all inventions created.”

The college professor disagreed and insisted that more was out there to be discovered. The preacher challenged him to “Name one.”

The president replied, “Well, I’m certain that within fifty years humans will be able to fly.”

“Nonsense!” shouted the skeptical minister. “Only angels are intended to fly.”

What was this preacher’s name? Wright. He had two sons at home; dreamers named Orville and Wilbur. You know them as the innovative Wright brothers who proved to have a bit more vision than dad!

I thought that this was a great reminder for all of you dreamers out there.

You were designed to dream, plan, and create. God never designed us to be stagnant. If you have not dreamed in a while, ask God to open your eyes to see what He sees. Do not be confined by the mundane in this world, rather dream new God size dreams. Put on His eternal dreams.

Like Orville and Wilbur, you may have family that thinks you are crazy. Do not be disheartened when those you care about don’t understand. Keep pressing into God and trusting Him. Pick up His vision for your life. Today dream new dreams and stretch your mind to what is possible. Mathew 19:26 “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” Be blessed on your journey.

Do you spend time dreaming?

And yes I still hope I can succeed my dream one day

    • Juan if you do the dream in the margin a little time everyday I believe it can work. The things you mention are very important. Try spending 15 minutes a day on your dream that’s it in the beginning.
